Occupation

You can enter a person's occupation in this field. It may help you to narrow down your search. The system will return only those entries which match your request.

Example entering coal* in the box would return
individuals described as Coal Miner or Coal Hewer.

However, you should use this field with caution as occupations may have been recorded differently at the time of the Census.

Example if you enter baker in the box but your individual was described
as a bread maker on the census form then this person will not be returned in your search.
